Poor blood flow is one of the most common reasons a wound will not heal, and it has to be addressed for healing to move forward. When testing points to a circulation problem, we coordinate vascular evaluation and, when clinically indicated, a vascular surgery consultation. Your wound treatment continues with us during that process, and we adjust your plan based on the results.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used only for specific, medically approved indications, and always under physician supervision per CMS coverage criteria. Examples include diabetic foot ulcers that meet severity criteria, chronic refractory osteomyelitis, and delayed radiation injuries. It is one tool in a full wound care plan, recommended only when your condition meets the medical criteria and it is likely to help.
